It was a perfectly still hot day in Cape Town today. We went to Kaylin's 3rd birtnday party this morning and then to the forest for a walk with the kids this afternoon-to get rid of some sugar! I love my little family.

Enjoying holiday time at Ouma and Oupa.
This is a street parade that happens on 2nd Jan every year in Cape Town. It is said to be on the 2nd because the Cape Malay people were slaves in centuries gone by, and made to work on the 1st, so they celebrated New Year's Day on the 2nd with dancing and singing and bright costumes.
We got lunch at the Eastern food bazarre-breyani and naan bread, and ate along the side of the road enjoying the music and dancing of the 'Kaapse Klopse' and the vibe of Cape Town's story, people, culture and warm summer sun #proudlycapetonian
Supper with Ma, Lara and Peter, who are visiting for 2 weeks from Holland,Sarah- back from her amazing 6 week trip to India and Andrew. It's been a full house and lots of fun to end off the year together.
