Nina starts solids- 5 months

Nina had her first taste of 'solid' food today- sweet potatoe mixed with breast milk...yum! Forgot how messy it is, nina,the chair and i were all covered in sweet potatoe by the end of it. She wasn't too sure about it and made some funny facial expressions, but she'll get there!

Best friends

Best friends...the sight of them melted my heart today. Arden eating an ice lolly- and Nina just so happy to be with him.

Songololo

Arden makes up all sorts of games and things that keep him busy...this is what i found when i went looking for him today,concerned about the length of silence in the house! Please appreciate that he is also balancing a toy on his back-an important part of the activity, i was advised!

Sarah's baby shower

Sarah's baby shower at Newlands forest. Both Des and Se are in the last few weeks of their pregnancies and expecting little boys.

Amazink

Ro and Michael came all the way from England to visit us and see Africa for the first time. We had such a special week together and did lots of exciting things including a trip around the peninsula, swimming in the icy waters of campsbay, boulders to see the penguins, a potjie at meerenbosch,district 6 museum,snoek braai, acquarium, a hike up lion's head, fishhoek by train... In this photo we were at Amazink, in Kayamandi, for supper and a show. Arden particularily connected with Michael in his love and knowledge of trains. Thanks guys for a lovely holiday- please come again soon.

We had a very special lunch with Ernst's parents and Izak, who is home from MIT for the weekend, for a conference. We are very proud of him and so glad to have a quick viz before he heads back to finish his masters.

School outing to Tokai Forest

Shiela and the moms took the sprogs to the Tokai forest for a ramble, they were encouraged to explore and collect interesting things to take back to class. We ended the morning with a picnic on the forest floor.
