Zambia

Arden making friends with the locals in Lusaka
First swim of summer, at the hotel in Lusaka
Boarding the plane to go to the Royal Zambezi Lodge- in a very remote area- 6 hours 4x4 drive- glad we went by plane, what an amazing experience.
Ernst strapped in and ready to go
First game drive- we were privileged to see a pride of male lions
 Our luxury 'tent'

Arden taking a dip in Ouma and Oupa's swimming pool
Our swimming pool- how cool is that!
 Game watching

 Bath time!

Tiger fishing on the Zambezi- i caught this 10lb beauty
 Evening at the lodge
 Loving bath time as always
Up close and getting personal! This elephant seemed a little aggressive- i was grateful for the railing between us and reminded that we were on the wild animal's territory.
Arden exploring the pool near the sausage tree bar... after an early bath, he was mozi proofed in his long pj's.
Nina playing with Ouma around the fire
Getting back from a beautiful trip in the bush- seeing a pride of lions tuck into their killing- we were welcomed with drinks and the smells of supper.

Date night at the movies!

School outing to the Common

Sheila took the kids (and moms), on an outing to the Rondebosch Common. We had a picnic and the children had a ball climbing, catching tadpoles and splashing through mud in their wellies.

Nina's dedication - 2 September

 Ouma and Nina

 Lunch together afterwards

Nina seemed to enjoy her special day, and listened intently as we each spoke scripture, blessings and prayers over her precious life.

Weekend at Betty's with friends

 The Schepps

 Mark and Reese

We had a lovely time together except getting flu and gastro from the other kids! We braaied, walked on the rocks and spent time chatting and hanging out.

Spring on the West Coast

We had a beautiful day in the Postberg reserve, enjoying the arrival of Spring and the flowers along the West Coast.
