To keep Arden and Reese out of mischief, we put them in the bath...they managed to turn the bathroom floor into a lake and Reese had diarrhea in the bath...nice.
Due 2 days apart, and born 10 days apart, Raine and i have walked this special road of pregnancy, birth and mothering together. I'm sure the girls will grow up to be good friends.
Arden was beside himself with excitement in the runup to his party, especially at the unsupervised abundance of sweets! Poor thing came down with a cold the next day.
Arden had a racing track cake- please note the zebra crossing and stop sign! And we made a race track in the driveway for the kids to play on-they each brought their own bike along.
I feel terribly sorry for anyone trying to play golf when we arrive, pram, kids and all. Arden gets his own 100 balls to hit, most of which land up in a pile 1m from him...until he finds something more interesting to do-like wearing swimming goggles...
We set up a portable baby monitor in the kid's room, which allowed us continue braai-ing outside and enjoy supper and swimming by ourselves in the evening, knowing that they were ok!
We tumbled out of bed and down to the warm pool in the mornings. Arden is clutching his precious marshmallow- a reward for not waking us that night... More secrets to a happy holiday- bribery!
Arden said to me the other day, "you the best mamma in the world"... totally out of himself. Melted my heart faster than that marshmallow disappeared in the warm water.
